New Album from The Deep Dark Woods

So these guys have been around since 2006 I believe, and their upcoming album, The Place I Left Behind, to be released next week, will be their 4th release, yet they are somehow relatively new to me. I've definitely been missing out. Great atmospheric, twangy folk/country/roots rock. What do they sound like? Well the name gives you a good context. Would make a perfect soundtrack for a late night drive or fall/winter evening. Has a real classic quality, that makes it hard to place decade-wise.

RIYL: Magnolia Electric Co, The Band, Neil Young, Phosphorescent, Fleet Foxes (minus the cheery disposition)

Ninebullets has the full album streaming, so take a listen.

Looking forward to a reverb (and whiskey) soaked evening.

Take a listen to their newest EP Via Flamina (2 originals, 2 nice covers: Chris Isaak & Stevie Nicks)
